We used to visit Lalbhag only because we could dine at the MTR. And those days are gone as a new MTR outlet has opened in Malleshwaram. It’s located near Sampige Theatre, as a part of the Basil Restaurant building. It took us a while to find the place and once we found, we noticed the entry to the restaurant isn’t that welcoming.
So nonetheless we ordered Rava Idli and Onion Dosa which are served with coconut chutney and veg curry
and continued with Badam Halwa and Fruity Fusion for desserts.
Must Try – Masala Dosa and Fruity Fusion.
Downsides – The prices are bit off, they don’t go along with the quantity served. The staff always seem to be occupied in other orders and won’t pay full attention, and some of them don’t know what are the desserts available.
Each recipe had unique taste and is served with a small cup of ghee to enjoy the hot dish. We couldn’t try their special dish, which is Sunday-only. Neither was the Mangalore Buns nor Bonda Soup available. The ambience is well maintained and the interior of the restaurant has been painted with a combination of white and bright red color. We think the best place to sit down is right behind the dessert section because there’s natural light and less crowded compared to other places. We shall surely be back for more Fruity Fusion and Badam Halwa!
