{"id":3040,"date":"2016-10-23T09:59:26","date_gmt":"2016-10-23T04:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lifeonplates.com\/?p=3040"},"modified":"2016-10-23T09:59:26","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T04:29:26","slug":"burrp-masterclass-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeonplates.com\/2016\/10\/23\/burrp-masterclass-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"Burrp &#8211; Cuisine Crawl, Masterclass &#038; more at Airport!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The sight of people waiting for their loved ones to arrive, a bunch of people with their cabin bags and luggage, people waiting for their turn to board the flights, cops, security guards, \u00a0air hostess, and others&#8230; The cool breeze, lush greenery, souvenir shops, a chain of eating houses, taxis and more&#8230; \u00a0How astounding it is to be at the airport!<\/p>\n<p>Everybody\u00a0loves food walk, but what makes it more interesting is &#8220;An Airport Foodwalk!&#8221; Along with fellow food bloggers, we were all set to enter the Airport. In no time we set our foot\u00a0into the airport as all the security measures were taken care. This was the first time we went out on a food walk organized by team Burrp and we have to say that we were lifted off the air with their job.\u00a0There are multiple restaurants open on Domestic and International Terminals, out of which three restaurants were on our list.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Terminal Cards\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/30204260480\/in\/photostream\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\" data-header=\"true\" data-footer=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/9\/8573\/30204260480_9d7d1e8414_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"2952\" height=\"2952\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tiffin Centre<\/strong> was our first stop, a restaurant well known for it&#8217;s South Indian delicacies. It&#8217;s on the upper level of Domestic Terminal. It is popular for its ambiance and authenticity in terms of \u00a0preparation of recipes and taste. The ingredients used are imported from the place of origin and every dish has it&#8217;s own story to tell. &#8216;Wall of Chillies&#8217;, Chettinad columns, wooden interiors are few of the highlighting features of this place.<br \/>\n<a title=\"Tiffin Centre Entrance\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/30456623486\/in\/dateposted\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c7.staticflickr.com\/6\/5502\/30456623486_2c98929ab7_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"4096\" height=\"3072\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>On the menu we had, Piping hot Rasam and Nannari Sherbet for appetizers continued with Mirchi Bhajji\u00a0and Masala Vada. On the other side of the non-vegetarian platter, we had\u00a0Rava Fish Fry and Chicken Lollipop. Also, we got to see the complete meal platter.<br \/>\n<a title=\"Starters at Tiffin Centre\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/29860913923\/in\/photostream\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c4.staticflickr.com\/6\/5582\/29860913923_ae996c1db1_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"3843\" height=\"3120\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>A few steps ahead and you find yourself at <strong>La Alta Vita,<\/strong> an Italian restaurant. The bright interiors, green wall, and hanging lamps are few elements that caught our attention.<br \/>\n<a title=\"La Alta Vita - Ambience\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/30493331655\/in\/photostream\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c8.staticflickr.com\/6\/5325\/30493331655_dc0753d45c_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"4096\" height=\"3072\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Olive, Tomato, and Cheese Bruschetta is not to miss if you&#8217;re at an Italian restaurant, especially here. Chicken Arancini, fried rice ball stuffed with chicken is something that we liked! Zucchini Fritters, Zucchini fried to perfect crisp and went along with the dip.<br \/>\n<a title=\"Quick bites at La Alta Vita\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/30406374681\/in\/photostream\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/6\/5471\/30406374681_9d3768a32c_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"3362\" height=\"3120\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The last stop for the day was at\u00a0<strong>La Tapenade,<\/strong> a Mediterranean Cafe which overlooks the International Terminal. They are known for sandwiches, fresh baked bread, cheesecakes, fresh fruit juices and wide varieties of pizzas.<br \/>\n<a title=\"La Tapenade Entrance\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/lifeonplates\/29860922833\/in\/photostream\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/6\/5334\/29860922833_3560bc6173_o.jpg\" alt=\"airport\" width=\"3922\" height=\"2054\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The most exciting part of the walk was masterclass held by executive Chef Murali who taught us how to prepare Penne in Pomodoro sauce, Moroccan Couscous &amp; Chicken Tagine. Also, Chef threw light on different parts of Mediterranean region, their food styles and especially about Moroccan dishes. Harira Soup, Greek Salad, a couple of Pizzas, Moroccan Couscous and Chicken Tagine, Penne in Pomodoro sauce from the masterclass session. No meal is complete without desserts. We tried Chef&#8217;s way of Banoffee Pie, Raspberry Cheese Cake, and Tiramisu.
